Nhlanhla 'Lux' Dlamini who is the leader of Operation Dudula appears in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court in Johannesburg, 28 March 2022, for a house breaking case. The leader of the surveillance group Operation Dudula has been granted bail of R1 500 by the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court. Dlamini appeared before the court following his last week arrest on charges of venomous damage to property, theft and burglary. The charges are in connection with an incident that happened this month in which he and Operation Dudula members ransacked Soweto resident Victor Ramerafe’s home in search of drugs, they were apparently acting on tip-offs that Ramerafe’s home was in fact a drug den, but no drugs were found. Dlamini’s bail conditions states that he is not allowed to make contact with the complainant and he has also been requested to hand over his passport. The case was postponed to 27 May 2022.
